I just want to share my potentially oversimplified opinion

As someone who has been on the design side, the retail side, and the substack side, I feel like I’m entitled to this counter point.

I didn’t edit this because I don’t know how. I saw this substack and I felt like talking about it - I made it in video form because I want my non-negative tone to be clear. The points I’m circuitously trying to make are that it’s misleading to call the Old Navy pant a “dupe”, customers are smart, and marketing is everything everywhere all at once- choose an authentic creator to follow and it’s a win-win.
